Here’s what you need to know …..
I’m looking forward to this summer’s European Football Championships which will be held across 11 cities across the continent. It was originally meant to be June and July last year, but it couldn’t go ahead as England was in the middle of lockdown.
I’ve got a sweepstake which people can use at work or in their own family and what they can do is pick a certain number of teams out of a box or a hat maybe 2 or 3 and then work out how much person each person should pay.
I am also going to be using a wallchart which has all the games on which I will fill in once games are complete. You can do the same if you search for one online if it helps you to keep a track of the scores.
I will mainly be doing England games, but if they get knocked out at any stage, whether it be group stage or semi-finals again, I will then put my attention on another team who will still be in the tournament.
These are some of the standout games in my opinion, what channel they are on, time they kickoff and the day they are on:
Saturday June 12th Wales v Switzerland 2pm kickoff BBC One
Sunday June 13th England v Croatia 2pm kickoff BBC One (England looking for revenge for 2018 World Cup semi-final defeat)
Monday 14th June Scotland v Czech Republic 2pm kickoff BBC One
Tuesday 15th June France v Germany 8pm kickoff ITV1
Wed 16th June Turkey v Wales 5pm kickoff BBC One
Friday 18th June England v Scotland 8pm kickoff ITV1
Sat 19th June Portugal v Germany 5pm kickoff ITV1
In Summary, I’m hoping for an exciting summer of football with lots of goals to cheer about, and an England tournament win but it might be tricky considering the long seasons players have just had.
